NRMS have engineered custom built river work boats designed with a slightly curved flat bottom providing a shallower draft, all fitted with 4 stroke engines running on straight petrol to achieve cleaner burning, fuel efficiency and contribute towards keeping the waterways cleaner and free of added oils, lessening our impact on the natural environment
We consistently review, assess and redesign each new boat with features to improve efficiency and environmental sustainability. The bow of our boats is designed to minimise damage or disturbance to native riparian zone vegetation. Our staff are trained with the skills and awareness required to limit any damage to our local environment. The wider footprint of our vessels is designed to provide cutting edge floatation so these vessels can access difficult areas in our wetlands and foreshores. The concaved bottom of our boats has been designed to reduce wake that can have a serious impact on our threatened species & established native vegetation and minimise erosion to the banks and foreshores. The vessels are fitted with engine protection to create a safer working environment for our staff and members of the community. All vessels are built with sealed compartments for chemical storage to reduce further damage to the environment on removal.
Northern Rivers Marine Services (NRMS) has been serving the Clarence and its surrounding rivers since 2015, and we are committed to providing top-quality marine services while operating in an environmentally sustainable manner. Based in Iluka, New South Wales, we offer a range of services to both recreational and commercial marine users.
At NRMS, we recognise the importance of reducing our carbon footprint and conserving natural resources. We strive to achieve this by regularly reviewing and improving our operations to minimise waste, energy consumption, and emissions. Our vessels are equipped with fuel-efficient engines, and we actively seek out sustainable materials and products for use in our operations.
We also recognise the critical role we play in protecting the marine environment in which we operate. We work closely with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and best practices. We are committed to minimising our impact on the marine environment and regularly review our operations to identify opportunities for improvement.
Finally, we understand the importance of community engagement in achieving our sustainability goals. We work closely with local organisations and community groups to promote environmental awareness and sustainability practices. We believe that by working together, we can make a significant positive impact on the environment and the communities we serve.
In summary, we will continue to strive for sustainability excellence and welcome feedback and suggestions from our customers and stakeholders on ways we can improve our sustainability practices.
Stay tuned with the latest news, announcements, products and services on the Northern Rivers.
